- Rates of reaction
- Formulae and equations
- Particles and radiation
- Electricity
- Magnetism and electromagnetism
- Waves
- Gas laws
- Health and safety in a laboratory environment
- Ethical considerations in scientific research
In addition to the core content, each student must choose one of the following specialisms in technical science:
- laboratory sciences
- food sciences
